Changes to the Spires Cleft Centre Team - Summer 2017

Over the Summer we have said goodbye to some important members of our team. Mr Tim Goodacre, Mr Michael Cadier and Mr Tim Flood have all retired after many years of working with children born with cleft lip and palate from birth into adulthood. Our Clinical Director Mr Steve Robinson has also left but will carry on working as an Orthodontist in Portsmouth. We will miss them all and wish them well.

This means we have a new cleft surgeon, Mr Guy Thorburn from Great Ormond Street Hospital who has joined Mr Marc Swan in Oxford and Mr Adam Sawyer in Salisbury, a new orthodontist in Salisbury and Ginette Phippen who is our new Spires Clinical Director as well as Lead Speech and Language Therapist for the service.

You will still see lots of familiar faces when you come to clinics and for surgery. We look forward to introducing you to our new team members soon!

Caring for your child together…

The Spires Cleft Centre

A cleft is a disruption in the growth and development of a baby's face while in the womb.

We are a highly specialised unit dedicated to providing children with cleft with the highest standard of care.

The aim of this website is to educate the parents of our young patients about cleft, and to reassure them that their children can live happy, healthy, normal lives.
