Isabella, aged 8 years, and her mother, Debbie Waistell, organised an afternoon of fun at Emmbrook Football Club in Wokingham on Sunday 2nd June to heighten awareness of cleft palate and to raise vital funds for the hospital. Isabella has a repaired cleft palate and recently underwent a further operation to help with her speech with excellent results – as judged by her Speech and Language Therapist! The family were delighted with the specialist care that they received on Robin’s Ward.
The charity fundraising afternoon was a huge success with visitors enjoying a cake stall, crafts stall, tombola, miniature steam engine rides and raffles with numerous prizes.
The afternoon raised just over £1600! Isabella was keen to provide some additional toys for other children on Robin’s ward thus the proceeds were shared between Robin’s Ward and The Spires Cleft Centre (where it will be used to support our Outpatient Fund).
Thanks for your fantastic hard work Isabella!
