The Spires Cleft Centre team were delighted to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain and Ireland in Glasgow on the 22nd to 24th April 2026 – joining colleagues from across England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.
This year’s conference theme of Realistic Cleft Care: Optimising Outcomes & Minimising Burden of Care provided the perfect platform for sharing best practice, exploring the latest research, and strengthening connections with teams from across the country.
The Spires team had an excellent and highly visible presence throughout the conference at every level. Members of the team chaired sessions, presented at the main conference programme, and showcased research through presentations and posters. This breadth of involvement reflects the depth of expertise within our team and our commitment to contributing to the wider cleft community nationally. It was hugely rewarding to share our work alongside colleagues from across the country, and to engage in meaningful dialogue that will help shape best practice going forward.
It was enormously valuable to come together in person to exchange ideas and experiences that will directly enhance the care that we provide to our cleft patients. The collaborative spirit of the conference was inspiring, and we return with fresh insights and a renewed commitment to continuous improvement in cleft care.
The social side of the conference was equally memorable – the gala dinner was a wonderful occasion, and we are proud to report that the Spires Cleft team were first on the dance floor, a fitting reflection of the energy and team spirit that makes our team so special.
A fantastic few days all round!
