I joined the Spires Cleft Centre in 2023 as a Senior Clinical Psychologist. I completed my Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the University of Surrey in 2013. Since then I have worked within the NHS supporting people of all ages to manage a range of health conditions including Diabetes, Oncology and Cystic Fibrosis.
In my current role I work within the team helping adults, children and their families to cope with any emotional needs they may experience associated with living with a cleft lip and / or palate and its treatment .
My work is informed by a variety of different therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Systemic thinking. I am particularly interested in the psychological impact of having a visible difference and I also work in the Oxford Facial Palsy Service where I am currently completing research into this area.
