Sarah Clews

I qualified as a paediatric nurse from Keele University in 2002 and began my career at the John Radcliffe Hospital, specialising in plastics including cleft care and neonatal surgery. I later qualified as a health visitor, expanding my knowledge in community-based family support.

In my current role as a Specialist Nurse Practitioner, I support families from the point of antenatal diagnosis through to the completion of primary surgery. This includes providing feeding support within 24 hours of birth, monitoring growth and offering ongoing specialist advice for babies born with a cleft lip and / or palate both in hospital and in the home environment.

I have a particular interest in infant emotional health and in preparing children and their families for alveolar bone graft (ABG) surgery.
